Outdoor Knives, Grohmann original design

A small family business with a significant reputation, Grohmann Knives Limited traces its origins to an Old World story preceding World War II. Rudolph Grohmann, a production manager in Mikulasovice (Nixdorf), initially declined invitations to move to Canada. However, in 1949, amidst desperate political situations, he accepted an offer from a Quebec-based buyer.

Upon arriving in Nova Scotia with his family, Grohmann collaborated with Pictou Cutlery, supported by the provincial government. Following the closure of Pictou Cutlery, Rudolph and his son-in-law, Michael Babinec Sr, worked in various fields. Rudolph's determination to craft knives led him to establish a garage workshop, where he began producing and engraving folding knives of his design.
