Yoshikawa Carbon Steel Cookware Warranty

Please Read First

Yoshikawa carbon steel cookware naturally darkens with use — turning gold, brown, or black as it seasons. This color change is normal, not a defect, and is not covered under warranty. See the photos and explanation below.

Yoshikawa Carbon Steel Cookware Warranty

Ginza Steel stands behind the craftsmanship of our Yoshikawa carbon steel woks, fry pans, and sauté pans. Here's what's covered, what isn't, and how to reach us.

What's Covered

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship under normal use, provided care instructions are followed
  • Applies only to the original purchaser with proof of purchase

What's Not Covered

  • Color change, darkening, or patina development — this is seasoning, not damage
  • Rust or surface changes from improper drying, storage, or care
  • Damage from dishwasher use — Yoshikawa carbon steel cookware is hand-wash only
  • Damage from misuse, dropping, or impact
  • Normal wear from regular cooking use
  • Return shipping costs

Understanding Color Change

Yoshikawa carbon steel seasoning color progression, from raw steel to fully seasoned black finish

If your Yoshikawa wok or pan is turning brown, bronze, or black, it's doing exactly what carbon steel is supposed to do. Heat and oil react with the metal to build a protective seasoning layer — the same process that gives carbon steel its non-stick performance and rust resistance.
