This item from Zwilling holds its quality for years to come, I can say after using it for five years in my kitchen. It is indeed made of real hinoki (Japanese cypress) which is naturally anti-bacterial in its properties, and it dries quickly after a hand wash with a small drop of a kitchen detergent. It does not need oiling at all because hinoki has its own natural oil already (so never put it in the dish washer). Because of its gentle texture, this cutting board lets you use kitchen knives without damaging their blades. The cutting experience is a pleasure matched by none. I highly recommend Hinoki cutting board as a must for cooking enthusiasts who want to take good care of their kitchen knives.

Not enough care and preventive instruction come with the product. Have to do own research. Already get mold in less than a month.

Simply a great quality chopping board perfect for hardened Japanese steel knives. The smell of the wood is incredible too!
