Kasumi (霞) — meaning "morning mist" — is a blade construction technique born from centuries of Japanese craftsmanship. Originating in Sakai, Osaka, a city renowned as Japan's knife-making capital since the 5th century, Kasumi knives unite a hard steel cutting core with a softer iron body, producing blades of unmatched sharpness, beauty, and longevity. Each knife carries the spirit of the shokunin — the Japanese artisan who devotes a lifetime to the single pursuit of perfection.

Hagane & Jigane — Two Metals, One Blade

The Kasumi technique bonds a hard steel cutting core (鋼 hagane) to a soft iron body (地金 jigane). The forge-welding process creates the signature hazy finish visible along the blade spine — giving Kasumi its name — while delivering exceptional sharpness and resilience under daily use.
